Meet delicious Eva, from Cali. An agile 9 month old who is crawling at full speed, just learning to pull her self up, and able to walk a few steps holding on to mom or dad. Her best friend and older sibling is Merril, a bull terrier. Merril is always looking out for Eva, wants to join the fun and never miss a moment. This was an ideal one hour family story telling photography session in Cali, Colombia.
What can you do in an hour? Lots. What kind of pictures will I take? Great ones. During a one hour mini session, we will spend about fifteen minutes of posed portraits, capturing the family all smiling at the camera and at each other, and many moments in between. I will give direction on poses, and perhaps a few suggestions such as tossing your child in the air. When those fifteen minutes are up, then it is all documentary. Before the day of the shoot, I help parents decide on an activity for the rest of the session such as swimming, playing ball, hula hoops, and the list goes on. That is the best part of these sessions, you can just be yourself, no stress just fun. Don’t worry about anything and I will capture the moments. These photos are all about you, your family and your interaction with one another.
For me it is all about having fun, enjoying the moments and the time we have together. I know it is all so cliche, but the older I get, the more it is the truth. So grab your little ones, throw them in the air, splash water on their faces, get dirty, enjoy every moment. Learn from each other and enjoy each others company. And most important HAVE FUN. Life is not a dress rehearsal. To see more one hour mini documentary sessions please visit my blog.
