A documentary family photography, my approach to photographing families: Day in the Life in Bedford New York.
In late April, I received a photo call from Chloe. She was 6 months pregnant wanted candid photos of her family children ages 6, 4 and the new baby that was going to be arriving in early July. She loved my documentary family photography approach and wanted just that to preserve this time in her life with candid family photos. Chloe and Nick, had just moved from a tiny apartment New York City to the country with lovely home, pool and garden full of fresh vegetables. With the arrival Baby Estelle, they were excited to start the next chapter in their lives.
I arrived at their home on July 31 in Bedford New York. I was greeted by James (6) Adele(3) and 12 day old Estella. For having a new born in the home, Chloe and Nick were pretty relaxed and appeared to have everything under control. Experience is the key, with two toddlers, number three is usually a breeze. Nick is a hands on dad; changing diapers, bathing the kids, feeding kids, throwing kids in the air, picking fresh veggies with the kids from their garden, playing spies before after dinner, and giving Chloe all the support she needed with their new daughter Estelle. He did it all with a smile, and only a yawn at the end of the day. Thank You Nick, Chloe, James, Adelle and Estella for allowing me to share a perfect summer afternoon with you.
