When you think of summer, what comes to your mind? I think and feel water. The smell of sunblock always brings a smile to my face. At least one or if we are lucky two ice-creams a day, long afternoons, outdoor showers, (my favourite) BBQ’s, late bed-times, and lots of family time. Although it is utterly exhausting and after just a few hours with my kids, I have a few more grey hairs on my head, and welcome any respite I can get! With all that, I look forward to summer all year round and never want it to end. Like many people, I love my Hamptons summer, but it is more than just summer, it is returning home. I am so lucky to call this place home.
Erin and I went were great friends in high school, and both return to our childhood town for the summer months. We get our kids together a few times throughout the summer, I love that I get to see her as a mom, and adore that our kids are making lasting friendships, while get to catch up and laugh about old times, over lots of wine.
This is my second time photographing Erin, Brian, Finn and Georgina. It is so much fun to be a witness to how the kids have grown and matured, how their personalities develop. Spending a day with them, without the distraction of my kids, allows me uninterrupted special time with my friend and her family. I get to laugh with them, share their stories, with no distraction from my family, and the best part is, if there is any fighting, I don’t need to get involved, not my kids, I get to document and share later!! HAHAHAHA.
A perfect Hamptons summer day for Erin. Brian and their kids, takes place practically in their back yard at Meschutt Beach. I hope you enjoy a glimps of their half day in the life session.
