Since 1556, Semana Santa, the holy week preceding Easter, has been celebrated with daily religious processions. Wood platforms hold religious status depicting the different stages of the life and death of Jesus. These floats weigh around 550 kilos and are carried by 8 men.

Popayán, Cauca (Colombia), known as the white city has honored this tradition since its founding and these processions have been declared by UNESCOS as Intagnible Heritigage of Humanity.
